The Meaning of Christmas – Lost in Translation- Part Two: An Alternative Christmas Message

The inspiration behind this blog post has been inspired by actual events that made me think about the facets of worldly beliefs V Godly beliefs. This concludes last week’s post by looking behind consumerism V an alternative Christmas Message regardless of your beliefs or non-beliefs. The run up to Christmas is commonly stressful - physically, mentally, spiritually and financially draining. The irony is that the true meaning of Christmas should be anything but those things. Irrespective of your faith the holiday season perhaps could be a time of reflection, because without question, we live in dark and uncertain times.  This is also an ideal opportunity to inspire young people to live out what Jesus stood for. A world that is characterised by unconditional love, peace, joy, patience, gentleness, faithfulness, hope and kindness banded together through Him. I attended a Celebration of the Christmas Story at my daughter’s school.  Below I share some of t...

Morning Inspiration: The Meaning of Christmas – Lost in Translation- Part One

The inspiration behind this blog post has been inspired by actual events that made me think about the facets of worldly beliefs V Godly beliefs. I attended an event, where there was a memory Christmas tree stand. The idea behind this was to share a favourite Christmas memory. I wrote, ‘knowing Christ 2015’ as 2015 was my first Christmas in acknowledging Jesus. That year I attended a church celebration. The experience was surreal and was something that left a deep impression, as the message was highly encouraging, uplifting and inspirational. The theme was ‘Peace on Earth’ - something I always craved but never quite managed to achieve on my own. Below is a throwback picture of one of my favourite moments in our First Church Celebrations in 2015:  I went back later to find my memory had been moved to the back of the tree, while my daughter’s one stayed in the same place as she wrote ‘getting presents.’  I was a little taken aback by the action, but not surpr...

Food For Thought - Beauty in Pain - Inspired by Confucius Quote

Hello Thank you for stopping by. 'Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it' -  Confucius.  When life gets tough, it can make it difficult to see the beauty of life itself. However as I sat on the above quote, it dawned on me that everything is relative. A great example is how some are able to turn their adversity into aspiration to change the world. Trials and tribulations are a given but outcomes can differ greatly from one state of mind to the next. This has prompted me to question my pain as to whether there is a purpose to this and what beauty, if any lies beneath it. Once upon a time pain had me through facing my wounds it has removed the stronghold. I felt a sense of freedom that has helped me to walk away from it rather than crawling into a hopeless existence. I conclude that broadly speaking even in the most tragic circumstances, beauty can be derived from pain. Because the beauty is not in the pain, it is in the message of the pain. Kno...

Morning Inspiration - A Pattern of Events with a Hidden Message

Hello Thank you for stopping by. I am always super thankful for everyone who takes the time to share and connect with me. A couple of weeks ago,  I received the following timely quote by @mrellison that shifted my thinking from obstacle to opportunity:  ‘If you keep noticing the same thing over & over again, pay attention to it. Signs are there as universal messages for you to receive.’ One issue that was particularly prevalent was dysfunction, despite limiting my contact with people it had a habit of reappearing in all forms. It would have been far too time consuming for me to respond and engage with each individual case.  I am also transferring the control over to the other party, which maybe short sighted of me.  In other words, given the quick succession of similar events how sustainable is it for me to ‘have a conversation(s)’ with every one of them? The impact may also be minimal, as people are usually on the defensive.  My belie...

Morning Inspiration - Facing The Biggest Trial Of My Faith

Hello Thank you for stopping by. This week’s post has been inspired by trials and tribulations that led me to feel defeated and deflated in my faith. I remembered that early on, my mentor taught me that the peace of God comes from the Word of God and not necessarily the people of God or just people. Less than 2 years into my faith, it was the first time I felt disconnected with the Word. I lost my momentum as I was overwhelmed with the sheer volume of dysfunctional people that I had the misfortune of encountering. My response is not necessarily God’s response and this conflict has given me a lot of stress. ‘When faced with senseless drama, spiteful criticisms and misguided opinions, walking away is the best way to stand up for yourself. To respond with anger is an endorsement of their attitude.’ Dodinsky. I loved the above quote that was sent me and the takeaway for today is definitely a case of ‘let your haters be your motivators’. When people hate on you it is ...

Morning Inspiration - Clearing The Path For Future Generations

Hello Thank you for stopping by at this week’s blog post. I hope this would be food for thought for those who had less than ideal upbringings to be eventually free of such pain. This is a letter to my childhood self to let go and not to transfer the pain onto another generation.   Pain is very much part of life, to co-exist in a broken world can be somewhat hard to bear. A stable childhood with love, peace and nurture no doubt gives all children a better fighting chance to succeed in life because a good and strong foundation can withhold and withstand adversities that can turn trials into triumph. The grit and tenacity built up over the years, gives resilience and strength to win the midst of adversity. This type of idyllic childhood can be something of a rarity as we all seem to be products of our environments. We may blame our parents but chances are they are also victims of their past. In reality most are brought up into messes and strife that exacerbates broken...

Morning Inspiration - Thursday's Thoughts- Inspiration Travels On The Go

Hello Thank you for stopping by at this week’s blog post, really appreciate the support.  Oops ! Wisdom Wednesday has turned into Wisdom Thursday! The week has ran away with me.  I am really big on inspiration because it uplifts the soul to see the light in every day. I recently wrote an article on the difference between living and existing. I think inspiration is the by-product of our ability to live a full life, learning and embracing new experiences breathes life into life. Be inspired my friends, if you want to widen your horizons to find your reason for living or purpose. You may have to venture out of your comfort zone, to truly realise the beauty of life. If you are finding life mundane and or a chore it won’t change, if you continue to do the very same things that makes you feel and think life is more of a burden than a blessing. Below I specifically chosen 4 photos with a hidden message, love to hear your interpretations. To follow our inspiratio...

Morning Inspiration - Light Party- Halloween Alternative- Celebrating the Light of the World- Jesus

Hello Thank you for stopping by at this week’s blog post. We had an amazing weekend embracing the Light of the World!  Just wanted to share 2 of  the highlights below: Monday 31 October 2016 – Celebrating the Light of the World (Halloween alternative) A Light Party is a celebration of Light - The Lord Jesus Christ. It was so uplifting, encouraging and inspiring to be embracing Light. Great food for the mind & soul as one might say. My local church wrote, 'Even in the darkness, there is hope! Jesus offers us the chance to cross over from darkness to light and from death to life, and to know his peace, love and forgiveness even in a dark world. The aim of the Light Party was to celebrate goodness, joy and fun-all gifts from our good God!' On the theme of Light, we also supported a world vision initiative called #CarveAHeart loved their motto:  'Turning a night of fear into a night of hope'.  ...

Morning Inspiration Concluding My Pain, Suffering & Deliverance Poem

Hello I hope you enjoy the third and final instalment of the pain, suffering and deliverance poem series. I find pain hard to process, hard to see and even harder to endure. T he damage is long lasting and feels like a life sentence. I always wonder will I ever be free from my wounds of pain and scars of hurt.  The daily triggers continues to haunt me, the memory that caused me to lose my dignity to the flashback that once broke me. Adding fuel to my anger and rage, consuming and feeding my pain.  The dark thoughts of revenge paralysed my hope for a better tomorrow, adding to my despair.  Seeing the world’s pain through the human costs of conflicts, famine, child labour, diseases and illnesses just to name a few. Led me to re-evaluate my own pain and calls for me to have a fresh approach or outlook to pain. As I dwelled on what pain means to me, a voice spoke over me to say, ‘When there are no peaceful endings, perhaps it’s time for a new beginning. Let it a...

A Short Poem - Pain Suffering & Deliverance by Hope & Faith

Hello I hope you enjoy the second instalment of the pain, suffering and deliverance poem series. Pain is very much part of life, teaching our children to suffer well- Chip Ingram, probably won’t be as popular as the modern day concepts of parenting but arguably necessary to instil. We live in a world that is undoubtedly broken. Learning to co-exist in a broken world is very much a process and a life skill we should all possess. This makes the likelihood of winning in the midst of adversity far greater. I believe there is power in expressing pain through various means that will inspire, uplift and encourage. I hope my love for life in spite of my broken past will serve as inspiration for others. Pain can be internalised but not necessarily articulated, residing in you causing further strife or suffering, hence I say what goes in, must come out. Over the years the pain and suffering accumulated so much, it had become a part of me. I could have worn it like a badge, l...

#MorningInspiration #WisdomWednesday #Love #Live - A Short Poem of Suffering Pain & Deliverance

Hello Thank you for stopping by at this week’s blog post.  I felt compelled to write a series of poems that reflects my own suffering, pain and deliverance.  I hope this will serve as inspiration to those who are going through hard times and regardless of your beliefs or non-beliefs love & peace is never from a far if one holds the greatest love of all. Tears of sorrow ripped through my tears of joy, left me fighting an internal war of rage. Bitterness rooted my inner self, hardening my heart to a hollow existence. Feeling trapped in the daily drama, dysfunction and strife plagued my life further burdening to my dying soul. The toxicity of the abuse claimed my mind, leaving its hallmark through lifelong scars cutting through my hearts of heart. My spirit was on a road of deepening despair, leading me into a minefield, where I fought the greatest battle of all. Living with brokenness crushed my spirit into wishing my life away. I was defeated and ...

Morning Inspiration, Wisdom Wednesday - Celebrating The Moments From Existing to Living

Hello I wanted to dedicate this blog post to my daughter, who celebrated her tenth birthday this week. I think the theme ‘celebration’ is very fitting, as it’s been 2 years since I began a new journey in embracing the unknown and turning my fears into faith. At the time it was an inconvenience but upon reflection, this could be what takes me from existing to living.  I framed my experience using the quote below in hope that it will engage and encourage.  ‘ Difficult roads, often leads to beautiful destinations’ – unknown. I have walked on many difficult roads that my heart was once only filled with disappointments, despair and discouragement. Reading and applying new information has enabled me to win in the midst of adversity. The source has always been the Bible, this common thread hasn’t always been obvious to me, until I became disciplined in reading and application I saw the connection between the truth and I. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs or n...
