The theme this week is ‘be encouraged’………………………………………

I wanted to reach out to all the readers and followers of this blog, regardless what you are going through if you feel encouraged, you will find a way to make it work. For example, my physical environment by in large is not desirable, with the power of SM I am able to reach globally out to be encouraged everyday with likeminded people.

You cannot achieve a different life, using the same mindset that created your current reality- you cannot start to do differently until you start to think differently. A powerful sermon that I watched was TD Jakes-The Paradigm Shift- he explains this effortlessly. I love this quote- if you want a different life, you will have to do something you haven’t done before’. To add to that when you know better, you do better- Maya Angelou. On that note I would encourage you to read and apply new information, because knowledge is definitely power. We often underestimate the power of thoughts, which derives from our paradigms- how we see things?

For example, my mother always say to us ‘we cannot afford it’ but she never encouraged us to think how we can afford it or why. This inevitability meant we live to think in lack and mediocrity. I am a mother myself, I instil a very different paradigm because our conversations would be typically be- this month has been very busy because of X & Y. Therefore I don’t think it’s a priority to buy it right now, it’s called money management. More so, is this a need or a want? Educate the child to think we have similar things at home etc. If you still really want it you have to save up for it or a way to earn money for it. At present she has built a made shift Kids Salon, using her pink phone, dolls & bears as customers, creating her own client cards you get my drift? Already her paradigm has shifted to thinking in possibilities. Through having these conversations she has learnt the value of money, because she is more than happy to spend my money but when I tell her it will come out of her money all of a sudden the item is less desirable.

Despite the trials and tribulations of the last year, upon reflection many if not all, has been a blessing in disguise. I am now in a much better place personally and professionally because I am balanced and connected with my body, mind, soul and spirit. By accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as my saviour and knowing my spirit is flawless and by living out my spiritual realm into my physical realm, learning forgive self and others, practising self-love and receiving the healing power of the Holy Spirit has given me true freedom and the ability to live in wholeness. Through the Lord Christ it has elevated me into a new state of being, if you can see the impossible you can do the impossible. I have finally found the peace and joy that I lost through for many years, through my environment. In the words of Steve Harvey- you have to jump to reach your destiny. You would probably crash for a few times before you learn to fly and eventually soar.

Please note although I made references to biblical sources, I personally don’t think it matters whether you are a believer or not for you to gain something from the teaching. For example, one of my favourite business development books of all time is the 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey. He talks about the paradigm shift and make references to bible stories to illustrate the 7 habits model. Joel Osteen- It’s your time (reviewed on a previous post), this was the first book I read from cover to cover- in the part he says ‘stop thinking in lack and mediocrity’ start to think in abundance and possibilities. If you think ‘people like me don’t get breaks’ then it’s unlikely with that attitude, you will try or even any good to actually come to you. I did find it funny because I though this book was written for someone like me- because that is exactly how I did felt & thought. That book left a deep impression on me, it was so easy to read but by no means less effective. I think my story is a testimony on how powerful that book was and indeed all the other sources I read- most of which I previously posted about.

To close this I want to encourage you all to stay encouraged, go to the library, and reach out to likeminded people or indeed myself. There are plenty of free material on the web, participate on SM, join in the conversation................you probably be pleasantly surprised in how therapeutic reading actually is. When you renew your mind, you start to renew everything else. In the words of TD Jakes- stop allowing what happened to you, control the rest of your life.

‘When you combine knowledge and effort, you have an unstoppable force- @commitment_coach

Have a blessed week!

Highly Effective People Strives For Excellence

Hello I hope you enjoyed the last 2 special blog posts about Parentalk and Abuse. I felt it was important for me to use this platform to raise awareness on topics that could make a positive impact on future generations. This week is back to talking about life, inspiration, motivation and ideas-this post was actually inspired by a rather dysfunctional event. Every day we have many distractions, which can keep us from our destiny if we chose to be consumed by it.  Our dreams has to be bigger than our current reality to cause us not to sweat the smaller stuff and that involves letting some things or people go. The difference between effective and not-effective people is how we chose to channel it. Below is how (after the initial annoyance) I done it. Just to put this into context- the individual(s) concerns were unable to take accountability for their actions / errors, instead what I observed was a misuse of power and the slow demise of an outdated organisation. Enjoy...

A book review – Part One - Dealing with Disappointment by John Hindley

This book was a relatively easy read with the simple idea that leaves you to question: is life just one big disappointment?  In many ways it does seem so; the author delves into different areas of disappointment in our lives. I suspect most if not all are relatable to everyone. Firstly, the author says we actually should be disappointed by life, as things are not as good as they should be. We live in a frustrated and frustrating world; the frustration is because of the fallen world when sin entered humanity. We all carry this divinely inbuilt sense that the world should and could be better. The book goes on to say that on the other hand, we are sometimes too disappointed with life.  We expect satisfaction from other areas of lives to overcompensate for this.  When this satisfaction is denied, it starts an over-disappointed cycle. For example, I came across a thread where the mum wrote in and expressed disappointment in her children’s grades, which led her to ques...

A seemingly insignificant act has the potential to change the world...

I loved learning about the story of Reformation Day. The significance centres on how the Bible became accessible for everyone to read - historically the general public wasn’t allowed to read it, only priests or those considered anointed within the church were allowed to read it. The priests read the Bible in Latin, so for most people, it wasn’t even possible to read it. God’s word was entrusted into the hands of those in power, who were deemed qualified to understand it.  What the priests were teaching, was not actually in line with what the Bible said, as one monk, called Martin Luther found out. He started to read the Bible for himself out of pure frustration.  According to the teachings of the priests, believing in God seem to be just to be an endless set of rules and it left him feeling as if he could never be good enough for God. Little did he know at the time, he was about to birth a revolution that quite literally changed the world. This set him on a path of ...
