The Meaning of Christmas – Lost in Translation- Part Two: An Alternative Christmas Message

The inspiration behind this blog post has been inspired by actual events that made me think about the facets of worldly beliefs V Godly beliefs. This concludes last week’s post by looking behind consumerism V an alternative Christmas Message regardless of your beliefs or non-beliefs. The run up to Christmas is commonly stressful - physically, mentally, spiritually and financially draining. The irony is that the true meaning of Christmas should be anything but those things. Irrespective of your faith the holiday season perhaps could be a time of reflection, because without question, we live in dark and uncertain times.  This is also an ideal opportunity to inspire young people to live out what Jesus stood for. A world that is characterised by unconditional love, peace, joy, patience, gentleness, faithfulness, hope and kindness banded together through Him. I attended a Celebration of the Christmas Story at my daughter’s school.  Below I share some of t...

Morning Inspiration: The Meaning of Christmas – Lost in Translation- Part One

The inspiration behind this blog post has been inspired by actual events that made me think about the facets of worldly beliefs V Godly beliefs. I attended an event, where there was a memory Christmas tree stand. The idea behind this was to share a favourite Christmas memory. I wrote, ‘knowing Christ 2015’ as 2015 was my first Christmas in acknowledging Jesus. That year I attended a church celebration. Food For Thought - Beauty in Pain - Inspired by Confucius Quote

Hello Thank you for stopping by. 'Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it' -  Confucius.  When life gets tough, it can make it difficult to see the beauty of life itself. However as I sat on the above quote, it dawned on me that everything is relative. A great example is how some are able to turn their adversity into aspiration to change the world. Trials and tribulations are a given but outcomes can differ greatly from one state of mind to the next. This has prompted me to question my pain as to whether there is a purpose to this and what beauty, if any lies beneath it. Once upon a time pain had me through facing my wounds it has removed the stronghold. I felt a sense of freedom that has helped me to walk away from it rather than crawling into a hopeless existence. I conclude that broadly speaking even in the most tragic circumstances, beauty can be derived from pain. Because the beauty is not in the pain, it is in the message of the pain. Kno...
