Inspiration behind -Thinking KIMI: Bags For Life on the GO

I very much believe in the following quote ‘Your life doesn’t get better by chance, it gets better by change’ Jim Rohn. Everything that ever existing started as a thought in someone’s mind- unknown.  I wanted to live and breathe positive thinking throughout daily life, so what better product that to have mantra’s printed on bags, when you are on the GO.   The first launch will consists of 5 mantra bags. Below I have shared a short insight on how I came up with the quote, including the main source (s) of inspiration. Each mantra is printed cotton recyclable bags ready for the summer season- which is being launched on 28 June 2015 via eBay, please find us under thinking-kimi.   Bag One: You are never limited by your circumstances, only by your #mindset  KIMI’s Thoughts: This was inspired by ‘If you think better, you live better’-Joel Osteen. This was my main starting point in thinking myself out of the challenges I was under. Instead of thinking h...

My Journey so far-healing and restoring continued

Nelson Mandela –‘As I walked out of the door towards the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I will be still in prison’. I am very  inspired by the above quote because I can relate to it. Life is full of trials and tribulations- you can be physically free after an event but still be mentally and spiritually imprisoned by own our thoughts (mindset), which in turn affects our spirit.  Tyler Perry said that 'what has worked against you, can also work for you-if you allow it.' This was the lead in my first conversation with my therapist, because I felt like a failure as in over 3 decades I had very little to show for my existence. After I ponded on this I realised that when others told me that I got a lot going for me- I didn't necessarily see or believe it because there was nothing tangible to prove it . I now realise that something was my potential to turn this around, the fire in my belly and the inability ...

Act Like A Success and Think Like a Success- Steve Harvey (SH)

A very refreshing read- It’s straightforward and in many ways identify the flaws with the education system. The content is dynamic and turns the traditional ideas in the world of work on its head. The belief is that everybody is born with a gift to succeed in life and its a matter of  identifying that gift, capitalising on it and making a contribution to society whether it be job creation, mentoring, inspiring etc.  Below are some key points I took away: -Success is an ongoing journey and a long term commitment: SH says that overnight success is rare, it often starts as humble beginnings. SH has had many years of hardship, despite adversity, always stay loyal to self and have the belief that determination will conquer all and one day you will make it. SH is a fine example- his back story was quite literally starting from nothing to following his dreams.  -Reinventing yourself: Change is an inevitable factor, embrace this and move with the times. Goin...

Reflecting on the journey so far-healing and restoring.......

I have been relentlessly plugging positive thinking, through various sources (please see previous posts). There has been a real shift in my mindset, which empowered me to start healing and thinking in a limitless way.  Given the past cannot be change or rewritten, the best thing I can do is protect myself against future harm and use my experiences to strengthen me. I have been inspired me to let go of the past, so I can live my future. A quote I came across, seem to very fitting to me at this very moment in time. 'You cannot start a new chapter if you keep reading the last one'-unknown. I accept the hurt and anger that I endured over the years. I saw a pattern forming stemming from my dysfunctional childhood, which had either a direct or indirect impact to who I am , where I am today, through the choices I made. Going to university was my big break, studying has been my sanctuary to restore structure and meaning to my life. Nearly a decade after graduation, I ...

Book Review - It’s your time-Joel Osteen

The overall message was clear,  ‘If you think better, you live better because being a prisoner of hope and faith will supersede any challenge. The belief of abundance in possibilities will ensure winning is the only destination, as the saying goes if you want something you find a solution, if you don't you find an excuse- unknown.  Life is full of trials and tribulations, it's not a reason to give up, it's just a sign that the path is not right for you. ‘Every setback is a set up for something better’ Joel Osteen.  I love how life's stresses was turned on it's head, through life challenge’s we build character, strength and use untapped potential that take us to the next level. Most of us including self-are comfortable being comfortable, so skills of greatness never come to surface. Therefore stress is needed to mould you in the person you are becoming, someone of excellence, with real credibility and substance. (At the time it would seem as an inconvenienc...

Tyrese Gibson-Motivational Videos-YouTube

I have found TG motivational videos to be raw and most inspiring, he's not just speaking from text, he's also speaking from experience on his struggles of making it big, when everything is stacked up against you.  The passion he has for motivation and making life changes is infectious, so much so this will be one of many posts about how his work has influenced me into thinking my way out of an undesirable situation. I love how down to earth he comes across, which makes him very relatable.  I close this by sharing a link to one of my favourite videos- its very compelling viewing as it's thought provoking on why a lot of people are not winning because the lack of (if any) personal responsibility and accountability. In other words-if you are not successful the reason is solely because of you,as your current reality has been shaped by the thoughts, choices and (or lack of) actions you made yesterday. If the reason for you not winning is everybody else and situation(s) ar...

Most Inspirational Book-The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People- Stephen Covey

The book centres on the 7 habits effective people displays.  Below I have briefly explained my own interpretation: Be Proactive : The ability to think and be one step ahead.  Begin with the end in mind : Begin the day with clarity on what you want to achieve and make a plan to do so.  Put first thing first : Whatever you are trying to achieve there is usually a logical order in achieving a more desirable outcome. For example, if you are writing a novel it’s a good idea to spend time planning. Seek first to understand and then to be understood : Too many of us (including self) listen to respond and not to understand. Showing empathy and consideration allows for a 2 way communication. Synergize : The belief here is we can achieve much more / have a better outcome when we work together as a team. Sharpen the saw : Renewing yourself mentally, spiritually, physically- switching off, having a good work life balance, setting boundaries and looking after ...

A community of positive thinkers comes together and share their thoughts, ideas, quotes to own mantras and wisdom. The trending on Twitter lasts for almost 2 days because it starts from 12midnight Asia time till 23:59 Pacific.  I have personally been interacting for a few months, it’s a fantastic way of connecting with likeminded people on a global scale- inspiration is infectious, the more you feed your mind with positive messages, the more it becomes your reality. If you see the world in abundance, you are more likely to go out and #makeithappen. What you can expect from #ThinkBigSundayWithMarsha: -        The process of thinking better and living better-Joel Osteen, can only come from within you. Book Review of #MyFightToTheTop –Michelle Mone

I read this book in 48 hours- I literally couldn’t put it down which was the first for me as it was a big book and I am not a big reader. I really admire her courage to speak so candidly about her personal challenges and no doubt this will inspire many more, including myself. MM-has true grit and tenacity to achieve above and beyond expectations, her start in life is truly humbling as she was not defined or confined to where she came from. It became her push through a factor that would mould her into a success story. It is a truly inspiring read even if you are currently in tough circumstances, her drive for success is truly infectious and it’s hard not to even be a little inspired. The book echoes a consistent message regardless of life challenges, you can always pursue your dreams, there is a never a good time to start a business it’s a now or never scenario, whilst you said I can’t do that, that won’t happen-another person would have already achieved exactly what you said that ...

Book Review of Tanya Bardo-Just A Girl Who Got It All

This is simple by no means a less effective book about the law of attraction. The contents and context are straightforward, using practical examples on how to apply the law of attraction. I have read more well-known books and this has been by far the most user-friendly version, regardless of whether you are a cynic or a believer the down to earth tone is very refreshing and inspiring. The back story of TB would resonate with most people including myself, child to support, in a job that has little prospects of a better life. Inevitability anyone in a similar situation would feel stuck and trapped in a vicious cycle of living from paycheck to paycheck. A feeling of going through the motions of existing and not living is constantly present.  This all changed when she applied the principles in the law of attraction, she started by changing her negative attitude she had towards her job, as it was boring and repetitive to feeling grateful that she had a job. Visualising her ideal lif...

An Introduction to KIMI

I have been very inspired by the world of positive thinking, the quote below captures the heart of this blog very well: ‘If you think better, you live better-fill it with faith, hope and abundance’-Joel Osteen This blog journal will document my journey in positive thinking from applying the basic principles, participating in online trends to book reviews. I have been mentored by some of the best people in business, who took me under their wings and opened me up to the ideas of positive thinking and the fact that thoughts turn to things, so I pondered on how thinking differently would enable a different outcome, as one of my mentors quite rightly pointed out you cannot live a positive life with a negative mind. When I first read about positive thinking, many of the ideas was difficult to register let alone apply. This Joel Osteen quote resonated very much with me ‘every set back is a set up for something better’.  Just reflecting on the last few years, every set...

KIMI 's Back Story

After many years of trials and tribulations, I felt overwhelmed and exhausted to the core. Life just seemed too hard and I was destined for a mediocrity existence. I worked with a therapist to unpack these negative thoughts and emotions. The sessions were very helpful as it taught me some life changing skills, such as valuing and using my experiences to redefine myself. We all carry a burden in some shape or form, the difference is how we see and manage it. During this time I was inspired and motivated to learn a different way of thinking and being because as the saying goes ‘if you know better, you do better’-Maya Angelou. A common feature of personal growth in my reading is that everything starts with a thought and the Thinking KIMI blog will be documenting my journey from thinking and being in a new way that moves me forward and taking myself to the next level. I am a firm believer in that if you always do what you always have done, you will always get what you always got-unkno...
