Hello
This
week’s inspiration comes from the following post:

Forgiveness
is something I struggle with, a sense of injustice is so deeply ingrained I
never thought I be able get pass this. However, the above post humbled me to rethink on how I see unkindness.
Turning
unkindness on its head…………………………………………………………………......
When
I was micromanaged out of my last job, it particularly harden my heart because
it wasn’t professional but personal. The management whom was mostly female
lived up to the stereotypical views of women in the workplace. It was so sad to
see poor practices to support such beliefs. I am addressing the
management as a whole rather than the individual in question because she was
not alone in her ways.
It was evident that the management and I saw the world differently. The management had a very traditional mindset, where respect is bowing down a knee to the hierarchy. I believe this is earned and any admiration has to come from a genuine place. Everyone has the right to expect to be treated in a humane way, anything beyond the realms of this I would say it contradicts the meaning of respect.
As a junior member of staff, I was often at the mercy of misplaced anger or debatable management styles. It was no doubt in my mind that management regularly abused their position and overly exert their authority for personal gains or self-gratification. I suspect many of them project their own insecurities or issues onto their subordinates, especially if they don’t conform to the status quo.
The culture was the slow demise of what should be a great place to work. The management egotistic views only feeds into the daily drama and dysfunction. The John Steinbeck quote comes to mind, as below:
There was a lack of common decency (if any) towards anybody below a certain a grade, hence the only way to respond to questionable management styles was to greet it with the wall of silence, this was until my personal space was invaded and drove me to a response of harsh words.
I am told by the Word of God that I must forgive and after 2 years, the graciousness of Christ has melted my heart to do the same. Life hurts, we all go through pain, which accumulates over time. Pain only truly heals when it comes to the presence of light. Unresolved emotions = unrest, you will never be at peace when you have unresolved emotions (Jimmy Evans & North Point Community Church). It doesn’t make it okay but it does tell us the whys.
Today, I am making a public declaration to let go of any offenses and let God be the ultimate judge. I have no doubt taking the decision to forgive is only the first step. I will need to be in constant prayer, until its in my DNA. I need to part of the solution and not the problem. Hate only breeds and manifest into more brokenness that carries on this vicious cycle.
I
pray for everyone who reads this has their pain ministered to in some shape or
form. In Jesus Name-Amen.
I
hope this short read has been a blessing to you, love to hear your thoughts as
always, links below:
