Hello
This
week’s blog post carries on from last week’s- time to reflect and when I saw
the slogan below it prompted the question- how do I see the world?
I
believe there is a direct correlation between how we see the world and how far
or not we get in life. In the bible it says the heart regulates the hands 2.
Corinthians 8:9-23. In other words what is in our hearts comes out in our actions,
if we value life we tend to make the most of everything. This includes how
we our resources such as our mind and time, both equally valuable as there is only one of you and there are only 24 hours in a day. Some may say the gap
between the rich and the poor has never been wider or the have and have not’s.
A very compelling question to ask is why such a disparity?
Taking
away the specific variables, we are left with our minds and time both are not
subjected to means but influenced and conditioned by its environment. Looking
back on my own life I can see a distinct paradigm shift. I now see the world
through inspiration, which turns in to possibilities and dictates my actions.
I keep my circle of influence small, as the saying goes if you got more than 2
people in a room messiness is not far away- GV.  My time is spent on activities that would
enrich my life such as reading books or listening to sermons. In the words of
Maya Angelou, if you know better, you do better.
As
we head into the last quarter of 2016, ask yourself the question am I going to
finish the year strong? Your answer isn’t necessarily a deal breaker because life is all about the creation and not the destination. The
saying that every expert was once a learner comes to mind, no one starts off
being great. Greatness is crafted over many years of trials and errors,
practice and failures.
I want to leave you with some food for thought inspired by the Bible. It
is just as important to look at the roots as well as the fruits, if not more
so. For example, if your answer to the above question is no. Then you
need to ask yourself why, sure there are circumstantial factors but if
you keep on stripping away those reasons, I suspect you will find the real reason[s] why
2016 wasn’t how you envisaged. A common reason I observed is lack of self belief, which is often half of the battle.
I briefly shared mine below:
I
think on the whole I will finish 2016 strong and to make 2017 and even stronger
year. I need to de-clutter my life, physically, mentally and spiritually. I
have come to the realisation that if I want an even greater year, I must truly
let go of past bygones to make space for life’s possibilities.
