Drawing a line under the challenges & adversity, Focusing on my #hopes & #dreams for #2016

Hello

Thank you for stopping by as the New Year is approaching I am in clearing my mind to ensure I am fully embracing 2016 as much as possible. This means drawing a line under the challenges & adversities of 2015. Taking a fresh approach for the coming New Year- it’s all about taking yourself to the next level, setting goals, set a plan & sustaining a positive mental attitude to see it through. The theme is how I have turned my pain into my purpose & my mess into my message.

The main inspiration behind this is the belief that I hold, which is the space between our dreams & reality is our action.

Are you on the following SM? If so please come over and say hello & find out more about us:

My pain into my purpose, my mess into my message…………………………………………………………………………………

I sat into a Dr Tom Robson education talk and I was very impressed with the content. This was very much in line with all the reading I have done, please see previous blogs for more info. One of his opening statement was how many of us love what we do for a living? Needless to say I don’t think one hand went up in the audience. (Although I love what I do now as it’s still yet to be established, it was somewhat difficult to say so).  He added one of our most important role, as a parent is to nurture a child’s individuality.

In order to find what our true gifts in life are, we must regularly go out of our comfort zone & explore this. If we don’t learn to think & be different we are just bringing up a generation of more or less of the same. Going to a job that we dislike & never really realising our potential, because we are in a vicious cycle. I can identify with the sentiments & I should know how much of a stronghold a job can have in your life. Especially when you have responsibilities to be fulfilled. I lost count how many conversations I have had, where people loathe their jobs but can’t quit because of bills & children, ending up leading very little in their quality of life.

This only cemented my thoughts, which is to instil a think big mentality, when you dream big from the start it becomes the norm. Not only in my own child but to inspire & encourage the youth to think & be beyond their circumstances. Once you realised your worth or potential, settling doesn’t become an option & thinking beyond today becomes a way of life. This is where society starts to get stronger as a whole because once we know who we are, we make better choices to improve our lives & others.
As 2016 is on the horizon I thought it be good to close with the following, the space between our dreams & our reality is our action so:

KIMI’S Dream: To become a motivational writer & speaker inspiring the next generations to think and be beyond their circumstances.

Actions for 2016: Publish my first book, have my first speaking event, continue to grow my audience with my blog to at least 9K hits by the end of 2016 & to have sold out another 4 lines of positive vibes eco-friendly bags.

** Tunnel vision is essential in your mindset, staying focused & obedient to the vision, never allow doubts or distractions to take you off course **. Steve Harvey & Tyrese Gibson- I have blogged about both of their books so down to earth & easy to apply it’s a must read if you fancy some inspiration over the holiday period for the next year.

I would love to hear your hopes and dreams for 2016, please share below or connect with me on SM-I will share more on my ongoing inspirational journey, I have started a pray jar (you can call yours hope or dream jar). It’s about gathering positive thoughts, hopes & dreams. Staying focused- through the daily grind of life, with the countless demands I have found it to be calming and in the words of the Lord it allows you to be still.

Best wishes

Highly Effective People Strives For Excellence

Hello I hope you enjoyed the last 2 special blog posts about Parentalk and Abuse. I felt it was important for me to use this platform to raise awareness on topics that could make a positive impact on future generations. This week is back to talking about life, inspiration, motivation and ideas-this post was actually inspired by a rather dysfunctional event. Every day we have many distractions, which can keep us from our destiny if we chose to be consumed by it.  Our dreams has to be bigger than our current reality to cause us not to sweat the smaller stuff and that involves letting some things or people go. The difference between effective and not-effective people is how we chose to channel it. Below is how (after the initial annoyance) I done it. Just to put this into context- the individual(s) concerns were unable to take accountability for their actions / errors, instead what I observed was a misuse of power and the slow demise of an outdated organisation. Enjoy...

A book review – Part One - Dealing with Disappointment by John Hindley

This book was a relatively easy read with the simple idea that leaves you to question: is life just one big disappointment?  In many ways it does seem so; the author delves into different areas of disappointment in our lives. I suspect most if not all are relatable to everyone. Firstly, the author says we actually should be disappointed by life, as things are not as good as they should be. We live in a frustrated and frustrating world; the frustration is because of the fallen world when sin entered humanity. We all carry this divinely inbuilt sense that the world should and could be better. The book goes on to say that on the other hand, we are sometimes too disappointed with life.  We expect satisfaction from other areas of lives to overcompensate for this.  When this satisfaction is denied, it starts an over-disappointed cycle. For example, I came across a thread where the mum wrote in and expressed disappointment in her children’s grades, which led her to ques...

A seemingly insignificant act has the potential to change the world...

I loved learning about the story of Reformation Day. The significance centres on how the Bible became accessible for everyone to read - historically the general public wasn’t allowed to read it, only priests or those considered anointed within the church were allowed to read it. The priests read the Bible in Latin, so for most people, it wasn’t even possible to read it. God’s word was entrusted into the hands of those in power, who were deemed qualified to understand it.  What the priests were teaching, was not actually in line with what the Bible said, as one monk, called Martin Luther found out. He started to read the Bible for himself out of pure frustration.  According to the teachings of the priests, believing in God seem to be just to be an endless set of rules and it left him feeling as if he could never be good enough for God. Little did he know at the time, he was about to birth a revolution that quite literally changed the world. This set him on a path of ...
