What we do today is a prediction of our future- SK…………………………………………………………………
I was inspired by the above quote
because we typically live in two worlds, the past or the future. If we are not
carrying the past, we are worrying about the future & therefore we fail to
live in the present. The quote had a profound impact on the way I think because
if- I reflected on my present it was as a direct result of my past choices or
(lack) of actions. I was stuck in a cycle of mediocrity because I lacked
self-love, we tend to make choices according to our worth. If we don’t think too
much of ourselves it’s unlikely that we would strive to obtain anything other
what we feel we deserve, both in our personal & professional life. Taking
responsibility and accountability is integral to breaking the cycle of more or
less the same. By valuing and living in the present I have already changed the
course of my future.
The most important relationship we
could ever have is with ourselves.  When
we realise our worth, we tend to tolerate a lot less because our beliefs tells
us-I love myself too much to put up with this or I deserve more than this.
Boundaries are in place to protect the soul or minimise the impact of the
broken society we live in. The harsh reality is that people only treat you how
you allow them- I used this to empower myself rather than dwell on the facts
because I know it was a one way ticket to nowhere had I wallowed in self-pity.
Given I didn’t have great role models, it was probably an inevitable chain of
events for me to go through in order for me to be redefined by my history.
I had many misfortunes of being on
the receiving end of someone else’s issues both personally &
professionally, as a result I had flight tendencies because I found it to be draining
& exhausting. I now appreciate this is not a realistic reaction because in
the words of my mentor- where there are people there will be dysfunction. I
learnt not to fear relationships but be mindful of who I allow in my space
instead. If I am not a peace when I meet someone, I believe it is a sign that this
person is not right for me (Buddha). Therefore I need to be more mindful of how
much time I spend with this person. (Based on my past experiences this is very
accurate indeed and it leaves me to say, only if I listened). Ever since I have
been more mindful of who I spend my time with and how I use my time, as I
believe how we use our time today is a prediction of our future- this quite
literally is one of my key motto's in life.
I healed, I learnt, I read and I
applied new information to enable me to find a higher self. The quote below
pulls together my journey perfectly. I need to visualise my ideals, believe
this and everyday take action or steps to achieve this. The mind is really
powerful it can propel or paralyse the physical being of self. I chose to be
free & believe in a better tomorrow because the other option is to believe
nothing is possible & whilst I am still living I refuse to die in my spirit
& soul.
When I close my eyes I imagine true
endless peace that gives me clarity of who I am & where I am going. I am an
inspirational individual & mother that despite the hardships in the start I
had, which had a chain reaction on choices & events till my present I
didn’t allow my circumstances to become my excuse- Michelle Obama. Every day I
strive to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday through my beliefs
of who I am and what I deserve. My mess has turned into my message, my pain has
turned into my purpose and I hope to those who are reading or have been
following it has uplifted, encouraged and inspired in some shape or form. My
dream is to become a motivational speaker, author and entrepreneur that makes a
difference in the brokenness we live in. I wanted to close with a quote by Sharon Tang because adversity can make or break us-
urged the younger generation to always strive for their best and never give up
even if things look bleak. “Always be prepared to expect the unexpected.”
