Reflecting on 2015, the journey so far..........

Hello

Thank you for reading KIMI’s blog, much appreciated. This week’s post has been a time of reflection. In 2015, my aim was to transform my mind, body and soul beyond recognition. I was fed up of going through the motions of existing and not living, achieving and thinking in lack and mediocrity-Joel Osteen. It was evident that my mind was cluttered with burden and it dragged me down, overtime it made me ineffective to do anything productive. It’s worth noting that clutter of any form is never associated with anything positive, if anything it’s a liability and a hindrance to progress.

I want to share the following tune with you. I loved the simplicity, as it strips bear in the core spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit he can cleanse your mind, renew your soul and uplift the body through his unconditional love, you can overcome any challenge. I always feel the flow of peace and joy through the Holy Spirit. This means my state of mind is always ready for the enemy, for example I always have a winning mentality to face any challenge. I appreciate without adversity, I would never mature or grow. This sense of inner peace has allowed me to think in possibilities and stay in faith. In the words of Joel Osteen ‘I am a victor not a victim’.

Below is some key lyrics from the above link: before I became a believer I very much lacked in life balance, in other words I used work (too much) to numb the pain of how my life was panning out. It was a very unhealthy way of living and I was on a crash and burn cycle, it so important to be mentally, spiritually and physically balance. Also to be free of any negativity that no longer serves you. By staying in faith through my daily prays and casting my cares and concerns to God, whom fills my voids through his unconditional love.  It means I now have inner peace in all that I do and feel, therefore nothing is stealing my joy:

‘You are my strength when I am weak’
‘When I fall down, you pick me up’
‘When I am dry, you fill my cup’

As with most things the success of your journey would largely depend on you, for example I have found it required a lot of will power to stay focused because it was unfamiliar ground. There are many style of worships and I had found I prefer the modern style of worship, such as Joel Osteen and TD Jakes. It’s an ongoing commitment to learn the word of God and get to know Jesus. It lifts my spirit and keeps it alive through the awaking of the truth. The more you learn, the more you know and the more it becomes habit and a way of life. I love the spirit of Christ because it teaches and inspires you to keep your peace, hold your joy and always staying in faith. My well-being has greatly improved through the cleansing of the mind, body and soul. I am renewed and whole again, thank you to the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore I always chose to cease the moment, making the most of every day and breaking the cycle of a lifetime. I finally found the true freedom that I craved, not to be burden by the past or overwhelmed by the future, just taking each day as it comes and living the spirit of Christ.

Until recently I never really associated myself with success, due to deep rooted held beliefs stems from my childhood. The Lord Jesus Christ has given my hope back and opened my thinking into possibilities beyond imagination. I also share the belief that everything happens for a reason, nothing is ever wasted through the eyes of God. God can take everything we gone through and make it work for the better-the likes of Tyrese Gibson, his story has inspired many including myself and I say he is one of my biggest influences.

I love to hear about your own experiences, please share below or connect with me @ThinkingKimi.

Have a blessed week!

Highly Effective People Strives For Excellence

Hello I hope you enjoyed the last 2 special blog posts about Parentalk and Abuse. I felt it was important for me to use this platform to raise awareness on topics that could make a positive impact on future generations. This week is back to talking about life, inspiration, motivation and ideas-this post was actually inspired by a rather dysfunctional event. Every day we have many distractions, which can keep us from our destiny if we chose to be consumed by it.  Our dreams has to be bigger than our current reality to cause us not to sweat the smaller stuff and that involves letting some things or people go. The difference between effective and not-effective people is how we chose to channel it. Below is how (after the initial annoyance) I done it. Just to put this into context- the individual(s) concerns were unable to take accountability for their actions / errors, instead what I observed was a misuse of power and the slow demise of an outdated organisation. Enjoy...

A book review – Part One - Dealing with Disappointment by John Hindley

This book was a relatively easy read with the simple idea that leaves you to question: is life just one big disappointment?  In many ways it does seem so; the author delves into different areas of disappointment in our lives. I suspect most if not all are relatable to everyone. Firstly, the author says we actually should be disappointed by life, as things are not as good as they should be. We live in a frustrated and frustrating world; the frustration is because of the fallen world when sin entered humanity. We all carry this divinely inbuilt sense that the world should and could be better. The book goes on to say that on the other hand, we are sometimes too disappointed with life.  We expect satisfaction from other areas of lives to overcompensate for this.  When this satisfaction is denied, it starts an over-disappointed cycle. For example, I came across a thread where the mum wrote in and expressed disappointment in her children’s grades, which led her to ques...

A seemingly insignificant act has the potential to change the world...

I loved learning about the story of Reformation Day. The significance centres on how the Bible became accessible for everyone to read - historically the general public wasn’t allowed to read it, only priests or those considered anointed within the church were allowed to read it. The priests read the Bible in Latin, so for most people, it wasn’t even possible to read it. God’s word was entrusted into the hands of those in power, who were deemed qualified to understand it.  What the priests were teaching, was not actually in line with what the Bible said, as one monk, called Martin Luther found out. He started to read the Bible for himself out of pure frustration.  According to the teachings of the priests, believing in God seem to be just to be an endless set of rules and it left him feeling as if he could never be good enough for God. Little did he know at the time, he was about to birth a revolution that quite literally changed the world. This set him on a path of ...
